Gunshot Medley 
One Act Play 

The souls of three slaves are stuck in a state of limbo, perpetually tasked with cleaning the wreckage caused by systemic racism purveying contemporary America. The trio must confront the expendability of African American lives through the ages: Antebellum South, the Civil Right's Movement, #BlackLives Matter.

The Water Trilogy 
Three Full Length Plays

The Water Trilogy Plays are set in the South Carolina Sea Islands and explore the intergenerational trauma of a Black family from Reconstruction to the present day. When her grandmother dies and the family home is sold, a young girl named Presence witnesses her mother's, already fragile, mental health deteriorate. Presence embarks on a literal journey through her family's past. She's determined to unearth the roots of the "sadness" that has plagued this family for generations and put an end to its cycle.

On Freeing fire
One Woman Show

How does the Black body get free? On Freeing Fire mixes blood memory, nostalgia, and poetry to unpack this question, while conjuring folktales of the past, present, and future. Through navigating tales of healing, intergenerational trauma, and grief, On Freeing Fire captures the process of one woman finding herself, loving herself, and freeing herself.

Smile, Goddamnit, Smile 
Full Length Play 

African and American’s worlds are turned upside down when they receive a letter in the mail from their Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben. The letter beckons the two to visit Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben before they “go die”. African and American’s views on their aunt and uncle bring up deep seated trauma, pain and contention between them. It becomes clear the journey to see Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben on their deathbeds won’t happen without an epic fight.

Rain, River, Ocean 
Full Length Play 

Rain, River, Ocean is about a Black girl's journey in her grandmother’s home…unearthing stories of past, present, and future ancestors. Currently in Development.

Father, Father 
Full Length Play

Father is throwing a drag cabaret in the afterlife and everyone is invited including his own son that he murdered years ago. Loosely inspired by the life of Marvin Gay Senior, Father, Father delves into Black masculinity, queerness, and fatherhood in a funny yet brutal play.

This play was developed through the Antaeus Theatre Company's NEXT Comission
